I am bitch and all that come before me

I am committing to finishing bell hooks this week, I want to start Giovani's Room by James Baldwin. So I am reading bell hooks and it according to me that while I have heard and understood what 'self actualized' means I only know it by my context clues  definition  and not the textbook definition.   Self actualized: means realizing and fulfilling your unique potential, creative abilities and your personal desires. (Coined by Kurt G.) Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a conceptualization of needs  that motivate human behavior. I needed to write this definition because I wanted to talk about what I am reading and I did not want to discuss without knowing what I am talking about.    "Young women want to embrace the "hard bitch" image because it keeps them from having to confront the pain that comes when females are pain that comes when females are punished for choosing to be self-actualized and successful."  What we do think, are we embracing...

What's your focus been on lately? + Pics I took (will be at the end of the blog)+ new books + philosophy + attachment style + recipe

HIIIIII, I am back. It has been a minute, I had to focus on getting through my summer class. I cannot believe I almost graduate grad school with my MLIS. Also, I do want to get another master's degree in Art Conservation. But this is not what the prompt is about I just wanted to do a side note. I have to do more research and I want to gain more experience before I get the second degree but my end goal is to be a director of library services at some point.

Okay, so what's been up, what's been happening, what's changed, what stayed the same? I am going to bullet point :-)

  • I am going to DISNEYWORLDDDDDD in Oct!!!! Super exciting :-) I am going for 1 day and doing probably Disney Hollywood :-)
  • I am also going to make sure I can go to the book the book sale in Kenner and in New Orleans.
  • I have been getting closer with two coworkers who are super cool, super nice, and educated and funny, and interesting. One of them is interested in going to an estate sale so maybe some time this year.
  • I have a scheduled consultation with a new therapist on Tuesday.
  • I had a goal of cooking one new recipe a month and this month is chicken stir fry for lunch and dinner this week.
  • I went out some coworkers and had a really good time :-) as always it was with the same crowd as the first time but I am going to a restaurant but I literally just looked at the reviews and I am going to veto.
  • My sweet, baby girl, angel face, intelligent, awesome, great, funny niece turns 11 this week and it's so wonderful to see her grow up and I am blessed to be her auntie.
  • I am vetoing the Urban Outfitters quilt ugh lol I cannot imagine what nightstands would go with it and the ones that do are too much money.
  • My attachment style is disorganized attachment style and I am reading about the link between BDSM and emotional neglect in earlier childhood and there is a certain link and I did not know that there were strategies  people who are disorganized use to 'keep themselves safe'. I am self-avoidant but my main thing is self-isolating. I like to be alone but I would love to share my aloneness with someone else one day. Not any time soon.
  • I have been reading my philosophy book and it said something I want to touch on. Chapter 9 talks about how intelligence can be seen as a 'conditional good' because how someone uses it can either be to put someone or something down (bad) or to uplift or propel society forward. I think this chapter was something I needed to read in terms of how I try to snub certain things. In the chapter it talks about how rock music was seen to be "beneath" certain people. Although there was one thing I disagreed with in the chapter and it talked about people should not correct people who use 'your' and 'you're' wrong...if you want to be a "know it all" and then start arguments at least make sure you know what you are saying. INTENT MATTERS.

Here are the pics I have taken that I have enjoyed.

I tried to take a photo in my sunglasses but it could have turned out better.

I though this candid was good because it was on accident and my boobs look nice. (haha)

These two pictures are of the lunar eclipse I thought it was wonderful and extraordinary.

This is a picture of a cloud. I thought it was nice.

I am still doing my goal to try and take pictures of things that move me. I want to make sure those goals I am setting for myself I make time for them because they are important to me.

I think that is it for right now blog. I will be back on Wednesday. :-)

Thanks for listening :-)

"I despise my own hypersensitiveness, which requires so much reassurance. It is certainly abnormal to crave so much to be love and understood." - Anaïs Nin
